RNLI Come & Try day Skerries

Ticket sales have ended

Canoeing Ireland and the RNLI are proud to support a fundraising 'Come and Try' at your local RNLI station. The sessions will be 45 mins in total run on the hour on Saturday 11th May 2019. • 12:00 • 13:00 • 14:00 The session will cost: €15.00 per person. All proceeds go straight to the RNLI station in your area. You will use either general purpose boats or sea kayaks for a quick introduction to Kayaking and to explain what the RNLI do in your area. The sessions will be ran by valid Canoeing Ireland instructors and helpers. There will be helpers around to help collect during the 'Come & Try' session so even if you do not want to get on the water, come down and have a look at what the RNLI do in your area. What you need to bring with you: • Wear running gear like warm leggings and waterproof pants, tech tops, fleece and a rain jacket. • You can use your own wetsuit if you have it but there will be no changing facilities provided. • Bring a towel, spare clothes and footwear with you. • Bring a snack and some water for after. • Copy of your booking email. You will be contacted closer to the date to be given specific contacts and details for your site closer to the event. Any questions, contact the Canoeing Ireland office on 016251105 or email info@canoe.ie. The RNLI took 8072 people from the water in 2017 and they have not released the numbers for 2018 yet. That works out as roughly 22 people a day helped by the RNLI. If you have never had to use this service, count yourself lucky. We all hope and plan to never need their service.
