Rough Draft Poetry - Binding Draft
Rough Draft Poetry Presents: Strands of Home - an evening exploring hair as home through the lens of Womxn
Dear Womxn, this is your night.
Join us for this special edition of Strands of Home – a gathering where we explore what home feels like in our bodies, our hair, our shared histories, and the places we return to, to find comfort when the world gets loud. The only requirement we have is that you come as you are, and let your hair down.
This is a womxn-only space, where care is given and received through the hands, stories, and voices of the womxn present.
We're bringing you a lineup of some powerful performers, handpicked to hold this space with their warmth, truth and vulnerability. After our headliners, the evening will open into an open-mic session, inviting you to share your own reflections.
Have you got something to say about your hair, your home or the shape womxnhood takes in the space between the two? Then we want to hear it!
Together, we'll reflect on:
· What our hair looks like, running freely in verses on the way home
· The odyssey of the womxn we were, we are now, and the ones we are becoming
· How we won’t be defined by our hair alone
Join us at The Chapel, Swords Castle, from 6pm for some poetry and communal reflections as we explore what it means to be a womxn who finds home within herself and her community.
See you there!
