In this hot July, we would love to bring you in the "urban" nature for a very special event: a screening of the documentary Ghost Fleet (2018), followed by a Q&A with our special guest: the director of the movie Shannon Service! It's a unique occasion to have an insight into the issue, as well as how she and her team made such work possible. The event will take place in the beautiful location of Prinzessinnengarten, as part of their „142 Tage für 99 Jahre! Dauergartenfestival“, a festival organized in order to keep it a common for 99 years.
About the movie
"Ghost Fleet follows a small group of activists who risk their lives on remote Indonesian islands to find justice and freedom for the enslaved fishermen who feed the world's insatiable appetite for seafood. Bangkok-based Patima Tungpuchayakul, a Thai abolitionist, has committed her life to help these "lost" men return home. Facing illness, death threats, corruption, and complacency, Patima's fearless determination for justice inspires her nation and the world." (imdb.com)

About our Guest
Shannon is an independent reporter and filmmaker who has produced work for the New York Times, the BBC and The Guardian newspaper. Her thematic focus ranges from political war reportage to expeditions up Mount Everest and relationship problems. She has won several prizes for her reporting and videos, including the Edward R. Murrow Award.

The entrance is free, with the possibility to donate. Donations will be split entirely between the cause presented by the documentary and Prinzessinnengarten (to help them stay a common!).
