SING 550

Note: Closing date for registration was Sunday 15th September
Come and Sing! 550 Singers, Same Time, Same PlaceSing 550 is a gathering of 550 diverse singers from the Northwest and beyond. All are welcome to come and sing, regardless of experience. If you are not in a choir or don't sing regularly, that’s no problem - we are encouraging anyone and everyone to join us for this once-off event! We are hoping to create a spectacular event with strength in numbers.Unfortunately due to insurance restrictions participants must be over 18. Sing 550 is part of Donegal 550: a celebration of Donegal Castle and Abbey's 550th anniversary. To celebrate this there is a year-long calendar of events taking place in Donegal Town. Every participant will receive lyrics and access to recordings to help them learn the songs in advance, and then we will practice together on the day of the performance. We have chosen a wide variety of popular songs, from contemporary to classical and everything in between, such as Amazing Grace, Here Comes the Sun, and What a Wonderful World. Participants will attend a practice on the day of the performance, Sunday 22nd of September, at 12pm, with a break at 3pm. The performance will then take place at 5.50pm. Practice and performance will be at St Agatha’s Church, Clar, Donegal Town. Sing 550 has been organised by the committees of local choirs; Donegal Abbey Singers, The Bluestack Chorale, Donegal Voices, EnCór Tír Chonail, and Tír Chonaill Youth Choir. So come join us and bring your friends!
