Join us for an exclusive singing workshop with the legendary Irish singer-songwriter Karan Casey as part of the 2026 Cobh Trad Fest.
Karan Casey has been a leading figure in the Irish traditional and folk music scene for over 25 years. A lover of ballads, love songs, and social justice anthems, Karan is renowned for her ability to connect deeply with audiences by bringing Ireland’s past into a modern, universal setting.
In this intimate workshop held in the Crescent Room of the Commodore Hotel, participants will have the unique opportunity to learn from one of the most soulful voices in traditional music. Karan will guide attendees through vocal techniques, song interpretation, and the art of storytelling through music. About the Artist:
Karan Casey has released twelve solo albums and appeared on more than 80 albums throughout her storied career. She was a founding member of the influential group Solas and has collaborated with a diverse range of musicians, including James Taylor, The Chieftains, and Mick Flannery.
Her latest album, Nine Apples of Gold (2023), topped both Irish and US radio charts to critical acclaim. Beyond her recording career, Karan is a dedicated advocate for gender balance in the arts, having co-founded FairPlé, and has recently explored new frontiers in theatre and spoken word.
