Nuns Island Theatre is an intimate, fully equipped 82-seat theatre situated in the heart of Galway City. Programmes feature exhibitions, events, films, music, literature, workshops, residencies, festivals, theatre and performance.

Galway Arts Centre Public Programme:

As part of Galway Arts Centre's presentation of Array Collective's 2021 Turner Prize winning installation, Galway Arts Centre presents a weekly series of public events with social justice groups, artists, academics, and musicians.

This is a conversational workshop as part of Socially Engaged Art Project “A Sip and Beyond” open to all.All materials required for the workshop will be provided.Galway based artist Pavithra Kannan will deliver this workshop themed around conversations - the act of talking or doing something with other people with a new perspective on making Indian Chai Tea and creating Art.This workshop is open to all and it mainly focuses about interactions and conversations. Tea will act as a nucleus agent to traverse and create an equivocal space for dialogue.Pavithra Kannan is a Social Engaged Artist from India, currently settled in Tuam, Co Galway. She has completed her Bachelors in Fine Arts (Painting) in India and Masters in Social Practice and the Creative Environment from Limerick School of Art and Design. Her current project &#x27;A Sip and Beyond&#x27; mainly focuses on conversations She conducts tea workshops and art workshops in Ireland and India. One of the defining principles that describes this project is a deep commitment to helping establish an open dialogue between function and narrative in all aspects of work.
