About The Friends of St. Brigid's Hospice:

This year, we are supporting another small but hugely deserving charity who support the needs of St. Brigid’s Hospice which provides specialist Palliative care and Home Care for patients with incurable life-threatening illnesses and their families. Inspired by the Irish Hospice Foundation, this hospice was established to provide palliative care for the community of Kildare and West Wicklow. This charity was chosen by the O’Callaghan Collection as one of their family members benefited greatly from the specialist care and services provided. All the work carried out by the organisation is done in a voluntary capacity so all the donations received go directly towards improving hospice care.

This is what is unique about SITE Ireland, we can really make a difference to small charities. We were delighted to see Aoife’s Clown Doctors extend their services outside of Dublin and we can now help St. Brigid’s Hospice realise their dreams of updating their services. For a number of years, The Friends have been fundraising for a major redevelopment of the Hospice premises on the Curragh, and this includes an extension which will increase bed capacity from seven to thirteen palliative care support bedrooms. A Day Hospice is being included to allow the Palliative Home Care patients a ‘day out’ and provide some respite for their families.

Hospice care is provided free of charge, regardless of the patient’s or their family’s circumstances. St Brigid’s Hospice is fortunate to have a committed team of professional staff of doctors, nurses and care staff whose vision is that no-one will face death or bereavement without the care and support they need. Please join us for our SITE Ireland Christmas Lunch so we can help them continue their vital work.
