Event description
Practical Risk Assessment Approaches

About this Event

The Health and Safety Authority invites you to attend our Workshop on practical slip risk assessment and prevention with a simple structured approach to identify and manage slip risks in the workplace.

Why attend?

Slips are both deceptively simple and unreasonably common. Work slips continue to cause a great deal of pain and suffering.

The slip risk assessment and prevention approach aims to allow workplaces to assess risks and prevent slip accidents on the same level thus avoiding the pain and suffering caused by them. This workshop will specifically look at slips on the level and the very specific key factors involved. It will detail the process of assessing those risks and putting controls in place to reduce slips at work. Attendees will gain an insight with a practical risk assessment approach to tackle and prevent slips.

The workshop includes practical examples and cases demonstrating the application of practical approaches to risk assessment and problem solving through consideration of key slip risk factors. The practical examples and cases also show the dangers of not dealing with slips properly and the real benefits arising from the interventions considering key slip risk factors including the slippery surface, pedestrians and contamination.

Who should attend?

The workshop will be of a particular interest to anyone who wants to prevent work slips, including:

  • Health and Safety Professionals
  • Facility Managers
  • Safety Representatives
  • Occupational Health Professionals
  • Workplace designers
  • Others that have an interest in the science and management of work
