About this event
The wine has always been a part of the Bulgarian culture and history, and Sofia is home to some of the country’s most vibrant wine bars and craft wine shops. Sofia Wine Walk organizes wine related walking tours and tastings in Sofia. The tours specialize in small, boutique Bulgarian wineries that produce limited editions of wines. If you are looking to expand your knowledge about Bulgarian wine and experience something different, Sofia Wine Walk offers an opportunity to explore Sofia’s inspiring wine scene. If you have a few hours free and want to fill them up with some fun let me show you where to start. On this tour, you will visit three unique venues chosen for their excellent wine selections and contribution to Bulgaria’s wide variety, and listen to their fascinating stories. I also can introduce you to Sofia and Bulgaria’s history, culture and traditions so you can learn as you walk.
Starting point: Russian Monument Square
The duration of the tour is 2-2.5 hours. The minimum number of people is 2, and the maximum is 10. This wine tasting experience is in English or Bulgarian only.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of your wine journey.
All participants must be over 18 years of age.
There will be some walking involved on the day, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella if the weather calls for it. The tour price includes light nibbles and wine samples at certain venues. This tour can accommodate dairy-free food requirements on request, but cannot provide vegan food option. Please advise your dietary requirements when booking.

About the organiser
My name is Pavlin Ivanov, and I was born and raised in Bulgaria. For the past nine years, I was living in Dublin, Ireland. My hunger for knowledge and determination to turn information into action has contributed to my recent success in senior leadership roles in the hospitality industry.
As a child, I had one professional dream - to be a tour guide. I somehow ended up acquiring a WSET Wine and Spirits Diploma instead. So after I discovered the wine, and it turned into my passion for understanding the nuances of a cross-cultural world of history, tradition, creativity, and versatility. Everyone is free to find their meaning and open the door to a new world.
I consider myself a “forever student,” eager to both build on my wine knowledge and stay in tune with the latest wine trends through meeting new people and traveling.
My hope with Sofia Wine Walk is to help travelers have a rich and memorable wine experience in Bulgaria.
