About this event

  • 3 hours

Some One’s Sons, an Irish folk band based in Mullingar, has become a fresh breath of authenticity in the contemporary Irish folk scene. In the past year they have headlined sold-out performances including the Liverpool Irish Centre, Whelan’s, and The Cobblestone, along with live radio performances on BBC Merseyside and supporting The Fureys. The band are embarking on a summer tour, including supporting renowned acts like the Wolfe Tones and George Murphy, and a summer festival lineup. They now return home to Mullingar for their headlining gig at The Stables for their new single-launch party, “The Banshee Wall”, releasing on all streaming platforms the night before! The song, a spirited and upbeat ballad, delves into themes of emigration and longing, showcasing the band's signature blend of traditional Irish folk music and contemporary soundscapes.

The Stables is one of the most recognized music venues in Ireland. Nominated twice for IMRO Music Venue Of The Year and winner of the Hot Press special commemoration award 2008, The Stables has played host to some of Ireland's biggest acts including Damien Rice, Lisa Hannigan, The Frames, The Academic, The Blizzards, and Damien Dempsey.
