Cycling Ireland and the National Dairy Council (NDC) will host a Sports Nutrition Seminar for Cycling Ireland Coaches on Thursday evening the 19th of May, at the National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

About Orla Walsh:

Born in Dublin, Orla qualified as a Dietitian from Kings College London. Orla initially obtained an honours degree in Physiology from Trinity College Dublin, allowing her to apply her detailed knowledge of the human body to the nutritional management of conditions and diseases.

She went on to obtain a Masters in Clinical Nutrition at Roehampton University, London, where she completed research on ‘The Incidence of the Risk of Malnutrition in Adult Oncology Outpatients receiving Radiotherapy’.

She has a personal interest in sport which has lead to her completing a postgraduate diploma in Sports and Exercise Nutrition at the University of Ulster. She has completed research on ‘The effects of cryotherapy on lactate clearance post-exercise and the effect on subsequent performance’.

She currently works in her private clinic, within nursing homes and with Athletics Ireland and The Irish Institute of Sport. She works with the able bodied and the paracycling team. Additionally she wrote for TRI magazine.
