We are looking forward to sharing with you this journey of faith as your child prepares to receive the sacrament of First Holy Communion.
As always, government guidelines and restrictions affect Sacramental celebration numbers and the logistics of how Sacraments can be celebrated and so I ask that you appreciate that things can change quickly and without much forewarning. This was the case with last year’s Communion unfortunately. At all times, the Parish are bound by such government guidelines.
Going forward Masses celebrating First Holy Communions will be parish based, in its proper context, of a Sunday Mass. Nothing will change in the school First Holy Communion programme. The children will continue to be taught the religious education programme Grow in Love as normal.
The Sunday 10:30 Mass on 26th June will be resourced scripturally, musically and visually for the First Holy communions children. They will be active participants in the celebration. The emphasis will be on the children. Please ensure you book for the correct date for the class your child is attending.
This booking system provides an option for parents or guardians of children in St John the Evangelist and Educate Together schools to book their place on 26th June. Places are reserved for children and two family members only. There are a maximum of fifty Communicants per Mass. In the event you cannot make the original booked slot please contact the parish office and we will help you find an alternative slot.
