A Chinese woman, a Brit woman and a Frenchman walk into a pub in Cork. But because the pub is Maureen's, instead of a joke, it's an assemblage of beautiful and mysterious noises performed on the pipa and the cellos by newly formed trio Strung Out.
Similarly to the river Lee, their music flows, has tides, is sometimes menacing and sometimes still, but never safe. And for those who wait long enough, they might witness cute and funny otters appearing and disappearing, but in their sonic form. It would certainly help to compare this music to something else, but it has never been heard before and will never be heard again as it is improvised freely.
