<h1>Workshop</h1><p>Join us for an insightful workshop that brings together built environment &amp; housing practitioners in Ireland &amp; Europe, students, student leaders and student unions representing the following third level institutes in Dublin:</p><ul><li>DCU</li><li>RCSI</li><li>TCD</li><li>TUD</li><li>UCD</li></ul><p>Ireland’s  housing crisis is disproportionately affecting our young people. For example, the Union of Students in Ireland (USI) published its submission to the Government’s Review of the Private Residential Sector, arguing that issues relating to the availability and affordability of housing “seriously and negatively affect the student experience in Ireland” . The DDPA is keen to support the formulation of a fair and ethical housing policy in Ireland, particularly in relation to student housing in Dublin. </p><p>The DDPA workshop will be in-person and digital –  to enable speakers from Europe to attend. It will be held in the Octagonal Room of the City Assembly House, Irish Georgian Society, South William Street in Dublin’s South Georgian Core – a landmark building steeped in the city’s built, social and cultural heritage.</p><p>Speakers: Killian Woods (Chair), Dara Turnbull, Katia Papkovskaia, Rob Cass, Carole Pollard, László Molnárfi and others.</p><p>Workshop format:</p><ul><li>Student-Led Insights on Pressing Issues: Hear firsthand from various student bodies as they deliver succinct presentations, each 5 minutes long, highlighting the issues they see as critical in today&#x27;s policy landscape.</li><li>Thematic Presentations by Experts: Engage with a series of brief presentations by knowledgeable speakers, each zooming in on a specific theme related to the broader context of housing, data systems, investment, and social welfare in Ireland and Europe.</li><li>Interactive Group Discussions: Post-presentations, participants will split into small groups (5-10 people) to delve deeper into each theme. This setting aims to foster an environment where ideas can be exchanged, challenged, and developed among peers.</li><li>Creating Impactful Narratives: The culmination of our workshop will be the creation of an “Outcomes” document, reflecting the collective intelligence and recommendations gathered during the event.
