About this event

This is a 4 session event on July 14, 21, 28 and August 4

Crime writing is one of the biggest selling genres in the book world. This introductory course will explore the nuts and bolts of this specific genre. We’ll examine character, setting, voice and theme from a crime novelist’s particular angle. How do you begin? How do you make your story unputdownable! A number of successful crime novels will be discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to share their writing in a constructive, supportive setting with a successful, published author.

Kevin Doyle is the author of two crime novels set in Cork, To Keep A Bird Singing (2018) and A River of Bodies (2019) – both published by Blackstaff Press.
