Surf, Sand, Son is an immersive and transformative retreat weekend designed specifically for secondary school students. Held at the picturesque Star of the Sea Retreat Centre in Mullaghmore, Co Sligo, and led by our NET Missionaries, this event offers a unique blend of spiritual growth, outdoor activities, and meaningful connections.
The retreat revolves around the theme of Mary: Our Mother, providing participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding and practice of prayer, sacraments, fellowship, and action through the intercession of Our Lady. Through engaging sessions and interactive discussions, students are encouraged to reflect on their faith journey and explore ways to live out their beliefs in their daily lives.
One of the highlights of Surf, Sand, Son is the inclusion of surfing as a recreational activity. This thrilling experience not only allows participants to connect with nature but also serves as a metaphor for riding the waves of life with faith and resilience.
