Event description
Join staff and volunteers from across our 227 Vincent’s charity shops and Order Fulfilment Centres!

About this Event

You are invited to the SVP National Retail Conference, Exhibition & Awards on the 10th of June, 2019 being held at the University of Limerick's Jean Monnet Theatre.

Please join a diverse group of staff and volunteers from across our 227 Vincent’s charity shops and Order Fulfilment Centres (OFC's) along with some colleagues from SVP outside of Ireland to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing charity retail in 2019.

Our theme for Conference this year is how SVP charity shops should approach trading in the global phenomenon that is the “Experience economy”. In a highly competitive market, the consumer places at least as much importance on the shopping experience as on the product on offer and wants to enjoy the shopping journey as much as the destination. In the charity retail sector where competing products are increasingly indistinguishable from each other, Vincent’s charity shops need to differentiate themselves from the competition by being authentic ambassadors for SVP. As the focus in our sector shifts from “ What a product does or costs ” to “ How the service makes you feel”, this Conference will provide a timely insight into how SVP charity shops can serve that need.

Conference highlights include:

  • A keynote address by US retail psychologist and best – selling author of “ Why We Buy – The Science of Shopping”, Mr Paco Underhill
  • Speaker from Brown Thomas
  • Suppliers exhibition hall
  • Official Launch of the Shops Development Programme by SVP Ireland
  • Afternoon plenary session and the retail awards and dinner (sponsored via key suppliers)

We look forward to seeing you there,

SVP - Vincent's Retail Services
