Tesserae

Founded in 2009 and participant in such arts festivals as Artscape in Baltimore, Maryland and the INTERSECTIONS Festival in Washington, D.C., Vivre Musicale is a non-profit chamber music collective that provides career advancement opportunities to contemporary, professional and pre-professional classical musicians through professional education, program diversification, and interdisciplinary collaboration focused on further enhancing the concert experience.Winner of the 2011-2012 CMA/ASCAP award for Adventurous Programming, recipient of the 2012 Irish Arts Council Music Commissions Award, and winner of the 2015 KBC Great Music in Irish Houses Festival Support Act- Residency, Vivre Musicale is committed to thought-provoking concert programming that promotes community outreach, civic engagement, and social equality, drawing on the power of music to connect communities while furthering social dialogue.In a world where classical music is besieged by class and culture wars, it is the music itself that must inspire, propel, and give voice. If Vivre is life, then Vivre Musicale is the living music, the chamber collective of the past, the present, and the future.

As part of Vivre Musicale's 7th season, Mosaic, <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.vivremusicale.org/tesserae" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Tesserae</A> is a kaleidoscopic journey that asks the listener whether the sum is in fact greater than its parts. From the jagged and often maligned, rough edges each tesserae comes together to form a sumptuous whole that is made more beautiful by its neighbor.
