About this event

Are you a final year undergraduate or a postgraduate student? Love to start your own business? Have a business idea in mind that has been brewing for a while?

The Entrepreneurshop is a half-day intensive workshop from 09.00-14.00 on Friday May 28th for those with a business start-up idea in germination. We’ll explore common myths around the idea of starting a business and also explore business planning, finance, e-commerce and the range of internal and external supports to help you. A highlight of the day will be a chance to get up close and personal with those in the ‘front line’ in a fireside chat with 4 entrepreneurs. You’ll also have networking opportunities to practice pitching yourself and your business idea in small group sessions.

Speakers include:

• Leading entrepreneurship expert and Director of TU Dublin’s Centre for Minority Entrepreneurship - Prof. Tom Cooney,

Hothouse Business Development Manager - Dr. Shawna Johnston,

Enterprise Ireland (EI) Mentor Network Manager – Amanda Kirk

Executive Director, Ireland Canada Business Association and LEO & EI Mentor – Kate Hickey

E-Commerce Consultant, Company Director & EI Mentor – Vinny O’Brien

And in a very special way to top off the day we'll get up close and personal about all things 'start-up' in our Fireside Chat with successful entrepreneurs including:

• Philip Martin - Blanco Niňo

• Dan Nugent - Ambr Eyewear

• Richard Hoban - Offr

• Kevin Owens – Sneaker Cleaner and

• The Mooze Vegan team

With just 30 places on offer on a first-come-first-served basis, priority is being given to final year undergraduate, and postgraduate students. To that end we ask this of you:

• Please only book if you are determined to attend and prepared to fully participate on the day, including keeping your camera on.

• Have your Elevator Pitch prepared for the small group sessions.

Let us know as soon as possible if think you can no longer attend so that a place can be offered to others on the waitlist.

Those successful in securing a place will be sent a link to the event at least 24 hours prior. Whilst there is no charge for this event, if you are lucky enough to get to attend we will ask that you make a voluntary donation of €5 or whatever you can afford to the TU Dublin Foundation's Student Support Appeal https://www.tudublin.ie/connect/giving-to-the-university/student-support-fund/student-support-appeal/.
