All the joy of the Christmas Season featuring Eugene & Ali, The Ballindangan Folk Choir & Mark Lyndon performing Christmas songs & carols.

All the Joy of the Christmas season awaits the audience at the Mitchelstown Christmas Concert at Saint George’s Arts and Heritage Centre on Friday, 12th December at 8pm. This amazing variety concert will include all the Christmas favourite carols and songs being performed by Eugene O’Callaghan and Ali Price, The Ballindangan Folk Choir and Mark Lyndon.


This highlight of the Saint George’s annual calendar includes complimentary mulled wine, beverages and tasty festive food. So the order of the night is eat, drink and be merry. Patrons are invited to enjoy the amazing array of talent in our area.


Eugene O’Callaghan and Ali Price are well known, popular musicians, performing as part of the enormously versatile band Before the Ghosts. No strangers to Saint George’s Eugene and Ali have frequently performed at the Centre, most recently with the Cork Garda Male Voice Choir where they captivated everyone with their musicianship and soulful delivery of popular folk, rock and pop classics. Everyone will be walking on the air with the seasonal medley Eugene and Ali will present.

The Ballindangan Folk Choir will make their Saint George’s debut at our Christmas Concert. With over 30 members from throughout the locality, the range of talent among this group is truly outstanding. They most recently performed with The Willoughby Brothers in the Mitchelstown Community Leisure Centre as part of a Breakthrough Cancer fundraiser. Christmas standards such as Joy to the World, Mary’s Boy Child, Oiche Cuinn and Oh Holy Night will warm the audience and create a wonderful seasonal atmosphere.

Ballyhooley based rising star Mark Lyndon is one of the rising stars of the Irish folk scene. His acoustic driven sound and haunting vocal puts him in a stylistic category with Paul Brady and Nick Drake. His storytelling through his songs ranges from ancient folk tales of the Blackwater Valley to personal lived experience, carefully painting a picture of all things from a lived human perspective.

Mark is developing a strong reputation as a live performer having played his set to audiences in venues ranging from Live at St. Lukes and the Triskel in Cork, to the Theatre Royal in Castlebar. He has opened for artists such as Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny, Mundy, Muireann Bradley, Paddy Casey, John Blek, John Spillane and Seán Keane.His debut album “Silhouettes” will be released in 2026.
