The Place Race is for place leaders striving to make their town or city an attractive location in which to Invest, Live, Visit and Study.

This annual conference held in Dublin last year attracted attendess from Local Authorities, economic development and community organisations, destination management and tourism bodies, education institutions, developers, placemakers and marketing agencies.

The programme will provide insights from key experts in relation to:

  • Place & Economics - the growing role of place attractiveness in investment and innovation
  • Placemaking - examining best practice in Ireland and the UK
  • Place branding as a strategic tool for reputation building and management
  • Place management - learnings from IPM on place partnerships and leadership
  • Place performance - understanding how to measure success
  • Place development - the role of transformative projects for place

This is a one day conference. There is also an optional evening networking event on 15th May in the fabulous St John's castle in the heart of Limerick. The event will start with a walking tour and end with drinks and canapes in the castle. Concessionary hotel rates are available for delgates in the Strand Hotel.

Are concessionary rates available?

There is a 3 for 2 offer for individual organisations so 3 members can attend for the price of 2.

What is the refund policy?

Places cancelled a week before the event will be refunded by BACS. No refunds will be available from 8th May.

Are refreshments provided?

Drinks and canapes will be provided at St John's Castle on evening on 15th May. Arrival refreshments, tea / coffee and lunch will be served at the event. Please notify the organiser in relation to any dietary requirements or allergies a week prior to the event.

Will presentation material be available after the event?

Presentations will be made available, subject to agreement from the individual contributors
