Join us for a unique night reimagining the music of Ireland's National bard, Thomas Moore. Following on from performances at Concerts and festivals around Europe and with sell out concerts at The National Concert Hall and The Abbey Theatre, The Moorings will help mark our bicentenary with this celebratory concert. The Moorings album "Thomas Moore Reimagined" reached the top of the Irish itunes charts and was album of the week on RTE Lyric FM upon it's release in 2018. With renowned singer Simon Morgan leading a world class group of musicians, their performance breathes new life and colour into the songs of Thomas Moore.
Musicians include Simm Morgan (vocals), Drazen Derek (Guitar), Karl Nesbit (Bohran, Bazouki, Whistles), Richie Buckley (Saxophone), Dave Fleming (Double Bass), Cormac De Barra (Harp).
Songs including Oft in the stilly night, Come Send Round the wine, The Last rose of summer and believe me if all those endearing young charms, are intermixed with lesser known Gems including Oh Tis sweet to think and I wish I was by that dim lake.
