About this event

The Tom Crean Endurance Walk (TCEW) is probably the most scenic walk on the calendar. It takes in Mount Brandon, Brandon Ridge, An Geran, Ballysitteragh, Cnapan Mór, Windy Gap, Cnoc Mhaoilain and the Annascul River walk.

Total distance 30km

Total ascent 1900mts

This is a self navigated walk and requires a high level of fitness and mountain experience.

Registration in February gives the walkers a good length of time to train and get fit and ready for a super day out on the Kerry hills.

Walkers will be bussed from Annascaul to Baile Breac to start the walk. We will have water depots at Baillysitteragh, Connor Pass car park and at Coumdubh. We will not be providing food on route, however, on registration you will get duplicate walk numbers one of which you can attach to an extra bag that we will transport to the Connor Pass car park and return it to Annascaul after the walk. Your can use this to have your lunch and drinks etc at Connor Pass and so have less to carry in your rucksack on the walk.

We plan to have food available after you finish the challenge walk and are presented with your Tom Crean medallion in the village.

There are a number of B&Bs, glamping pods, holiday house rentals and accommodation available in the village, book early as there is always a high demand.

We look forward to seeing our friends from previous Tom Crean walks and to meeting our first timers.

This is Not a race, however, there are checkpoints on route and you are expected to complete the full walk in less than 12 hours. There will be cutoff times in place in order to ensure the safety of all walkers.

It is a personal challenge for each individual and a wonderful sense of achievement when you finish it.

A GPX file will be available here if you wish to load it on your GPS or phone.
