Overview of the event

Participants will explore evidence-based, accessible and inclusive approaches to introducing engineering, with a particular focus on Sustainability Projects. All participants will take part in hands on STEM activities that support in guiding children in the design and building of prototypes that address real-world challenges. These playful, inquiry-based investigations help children develop creativity, collaboration, communication, mathematical reasoning, and scientific inquiry skills, all of which are aligned with the requirements of the New Primary Curriculum Framework. The workshop also features a hands-on session facilitated by Mary Immaculate College, insights from practicing engineers to support classroom relevance, and dedicated time for teachers to collaborate and share ideas with colleagues. Following the workshop, STEPS will provide all participating schools with a practical engineering-in-the-classroom toolkit.
