Seashore Explore Workshops
This interactive workshop will be facilitated by marine biologist Cath Russell of StreamScapes, who brings more than a decade of experience in environmental education, marine conservation and community engagement.
Participants will:
- investigate rockpools
- identify marine species
- explore the intertidal zone
- learn about the importance of protecting Natura 2000 sites, including Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs).
The workshops are fun, educational and accessible for all ages! They will also highlight how everyday actions can help protect Kerry’s marine environment. Participants will gain a greater understanding of coastal conservation and the role communities can play in safeguarding these important natural resources for future generations.
The workshops are free to attend and will last approximately 90 minutes. While registration is encouraged, all are welcome to participate. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and attendees are advised to wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for beach environments. Learn more at streamscapes.ie/kerryblueflags
