About this event
This workshop is for parents who want tools to support their children in building their Consent and Boundary awareness.
Consent and Boundary awareness doesn't just apply to saying Yes or No in intimate relationships, it's useful to understand that both giving and receiving consent and also being aware of personal boundaries are hugely useful life skills in many contexts and in all relationships.
Starting to talk to your kids and teens about consent as early as possible when it comes to how they relate to you, to their siblings, their other relatives and friends, to society as a whole, means that by the time they get to thinking about intimate relationships they are already fluent in having consent and boundary focused conversations with others.
During this 3 weeks course you will gain useful practices to support your children.
You will:
- Understand the importance of noticing and valuing personal boundaries
- Trust what you want and what you don't want
- Communicate boundaries confidently
- Feel comfortable saying No and hearing No
- Make choices that support personal wellbeing and positive connections with others
- Understand the Wheel of Consent and it's applications in life
- Have tools and fun exercises to support your learning
This workshop running over 3 weeks will give you time for real reflection on how consent and boundaries show up in your own life and also give you the support and tools you need to be able to bring awareness of consent and boundaries into your childrens lives too.
