When Robots Meet Art: Talk & Demonstration

Mr Hirofumi Tamai (CEO, Muscle Corporation) will be here in UCD to give an overview and demonstration of the "Kuroko" robot. This robot has been presented at various events (including the Shanghai Expo) and on this occasion it will visit Dublin before going to the Netherlands where it will be exhibited in the National Museum of Ethnography.

1988 - Established Muscle Corporation to challenge original robot development.
1994 - Muscle was approved as a company focused on R&D by Osaka Prefectural Government. Muscle started research and development of artificial muscle actuator for robot.
1998 - Respirator, co-developed by Muscle and US medical venture company, was brought to the market and became a bestseller.
2000 - Muscle launched the original artificial muscle actuator “COOL MUSCLE” to the world market starting in the US. “COOL MUSCLE” reached the position of the world top brand.
2010 - Muscle exhibited “YUME ROBO”, the world’s first human-like robot which could go up and down on the outer wall of Japanese Industrial Pavilion at Shanghai EXPO.
2013 - Muscle got Takagi Award by the Japan Society for Precision Engineering.
2016 - Muscle started to sell Nursing-care Robot, ”SASUKE”. Hirofumi Tamai was elected a member of Osaka Expo 2025 Bidding Committee.
