Whisky Tasting with The Scotch Malt Whisky Society

During the May tasting at The Malt Vault in Utrecht we will focus on Sherry whiskies. We will taste 6 society cask whiskies which have a connection to sherry. Some of these will be accompanied by samples of sherry to experience whether we can pick up some key flavours in both drinks, through the tasting of sherries that were matured in the same wooden casks. We will also tell the story of why do we mature whisky on ex-sherry casks? What does the society do with sherry maturation today? How do we achieve ot bring out these wonderful rich and flavoursome whiskies many of us love!Not a member yet?
