Event description

Description

It's your sea. It provides you with half the oxygen you breathe. It's your sea. It provides you with the water you use everyday. It's your sea. It keeps you alive. But, your sea is often awash with sewage. Want to do something about it?

On Sunday 28 July, we're holding a #WimRise dedicated to keeping our seas clean. #WimRise is a free event for adventurous souls who want to breathe (using the Wim Hof Method) with the rising sun and then go for a dip in the cold Irish sea.

But, this one is different.

We want to get as many of our politicians, councillors and representatives to attend as possible. So, they can see how important the sea is to us. So, you can tell them, in person, what you feel about sewage in our seas.

And that is where you come in

Find out who your represetatives are and request that they attend. Strongly encourage them to come along. They are, afterall, your representative. Find out how to do that.

Everyone is welcome to attend #WimRise.

Rise. Breathe. Swim.

Come prepared

Please come prepared for all types of weather. It could be snowing, raining, sunny (and everything in between) and you'll be sitting on a beach. So do come prepared.

At your own risk

You are responsible for your own health and safety. Please read the information below, and the terms and conditions, when registering. Your participation in #WimRise is entirely at your own risk.

How do I practise the Wim Hof Method safely?

The breathing exercise has a profound effect and should be practised in the way it is explained. Always do the breathing exercise in a safe environment (e.g. sitting on a couch/floor) and unforced. Never practise the exercises before or during diving, driving, swimming, taking a bath or in any other environment/place where, should you pass out, a serious injury could occur. Wim Hof breathing may cause tingling sensations and/or lightheadedness. If you’ve fainted, it means that you went too far. Take a step back next time.

The cold is a powerful force. We strongly advise to gradually build up exposing yourself to the cold. Always train without force and listen to your body carefully. If it is not practised responsibly, there is a risk of hypothermia.

Do not practise the method during pregnancy or if you're epileptic. People with cardiovascular health issues, or any other (serious) health conditions, should always consult a medical doctor before starting the Wim Hof Method.
