About the speaker

Ray Kennedy has over twenty years’ experience in various roles in Financial Services. Ray is presently Group Director of Operations at Wright Group Brokers, and is responsible for providing the overall operational, people management, sales, customer service, and strategic delivery for full operations. He commenced his career in 1999 in General Insurance Claims and quickly worked his way through a number of Technical Claims Roles. Ray progressed to Claims Manager where he managed over 100 people operationally. Prior to joining Wright Group Brokers, he held roles such as Claims Manager, Broker Performance Manager, Commercial Trading Manager, and Systems Thinking Consultant. Ray is presently undertaking Year 2 of the Master of Business in Lean Enterprise Excellence at Waterford Institute of Technology.




About the topic: Deploying Lean in an Insurance Office Environment

Over the past decade, Financial Services and Insurance companies have seen increased levels of customer expectations both in terms of product offering and service. To satisfy those demands, Insurers have had to adapt their strategies to put the customer at the centre of everything they do. This creates its own challenges in an industry that has traditionally been very prudent and slow to change. This Seminar will examine how to build an operational structure that is truly customer focused, the role played by automation, the role of the employee and performance management, the metrics required to balance the Financial and Customer performance. Hand-in-hand with the change in customer demand is a continued business pressure to be more efficient and to continuously improve operational excellence. This Seminar will look at the role played by Lean in this journey, drawing comparisons from the traditional factory production line to the office production line, and show how Lean principles equally apply in Financial Services and Insurance.
