World Explorers Summit

The World Explorers Summit is an annual multi-day event and charity fundraiser which is coordinated by the World Explorers Bureau and a team of volunteers, dedicated to the world of exploration and adventure.

<P><SPAN><SPAN>To celebrate the “Year of Adventure” in Wales, the organisers have decided to bring the Summit to Cardiff for 2016. The Summit will be based at the magnificent National Museum of Wales a short distance from Bute Park, the City Centre and Cardiff Castle.</SPAN></SPAN></P>
<P><SPAN>We have begun to secure the participation of the leading lights, visionaries and heroes in the world of exploration, adventure, mountains, oceans, conservation, polar, science and space etc., for an all-star line-up throughout a weekend packed with talks, on stage events, workshops and adventure activities.</SPAN></P>
<P><STRONG>The Summit Stage</STRONG></P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">The Summit Stage will feature world-class speakers from 12 disciplines which share the common theme of adventure and exploration. Saturday will be divided into three sessions of 3 hours each (Morning 10-1, Afternoon 2-5 and Evening 7-10), Sunday will have two sessions (Morning 10-1 and Afternoon 2-5).</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">Each Summit Stage or Panel will have four topics to be discussed by invited speakers in a variety of formats, including short presentations (15 minutes), Q &As, interviews and talk-show style sessions throughout the packed weekend.</P>
<P><SPAN>Film and Adventure Literature Festival</SPAN></P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">For over a century film has wowed and inspired audiences the world over, none more so than authentic adventure films, which showcase journeys, cultures, people and events in a way that provides a window for us to appreciate and experience that which we might never encounter.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">The <I>World Explorers Film Festival</I> and awards is dedicated to showcasing the present-day filmmakers, with numerous screenings, interviews and presentations by filmmakers scheduled throughout the weekend.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal"><I>Adventure Travel Writing</I> is a vibrant and versatile art-form in itself, it has brought the world outside our knowledge into our lives and continues to inspire and broaden our horizons.</P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">We will hear from writers about their books, their lives and host several adventure travel book launches as well as an international Adventure Travel Writing Workshop.</P>
<P><STRONG>Adventure Activities</STRONG></P>
<P CLASS="MsoNormal">An Adventure and exploration weekend without actual adventure activities would be like tea without a cup or a mountaineer without a mountain. Throughout the weekend we will organise a variety of adventure activities to provide Summit attendees the opportunity to really get to grips with their inner adventurer whilst in Wales – where in 2016, the <I>Year of Adventure</I> – <I>Wales</I> will be in full swing! </P>
