Overview

Alternating between workshops and Q&A sessions, participants will have a chance to learn from some of the best writers in Ireland today.

Every writer is different, and every writer approaches writing differently: from their style, to their routine, to their publishing journey. This workshop series puts you in touch with writers across various genres, so you can hear their stories for yourself. Alternating between workshops and Q&A sessions, participants will have a chance to work on their own writing, complete exercises, and learn from some of the best writers working in Ireland today.

March 10th: Catherine Prasifka

Catherine Prasifka is the 2025/2026 John Broderick Writer in Residence. She the best selling Irish author of two novels, None of This Is Serious (2022, Canongate) and This Is How You Remember It (2024, Canongate). The Guardian has described her work on the lives of young people and social media as 'essential'.

March 19th: Francesca Bratton

Francesca Bratton is a writer based in Kildare. Her debut Stronger than Death: Hart Crane’s Last Year in Mexico was published by John Murray Originals in July 2023. She is an Arts Council of Ireland Next Generation Artist (Literature). She lectures in Creative Writing at Maynooth University.

March 24th: Jessica Traynor

Jessica Traynor is a poet and essayist. She is poetry editor at Banshee. Her first collection Liffey Swim (Dedalus Press, 2014) was shortlisted for the Strong/Shine Award.New Arcana (Bloodaxe, 2025) was an RTÉ and Irish Independent Book of the Year. She is a 2025 EU Press Prize Laureate, was 2024 recipient of the Tundish Award from Field Day for contributions to the arts in Ireland, and the 2023 recipient of the Lawrence O’Shaughnessy Award for Irish Poetry.

March 31st: Rosemary Hennigan

Rosemary Hennigan is an Irish author and former solicitor. She is also a director of the Irish Writers Centre. Her debut novel The Truth Will Out was longlisted for the Crime Writers’ Association John Creasy (New Blood) Dagger award in 2023. Her second novel, The Favourite, was published in North America as The Favorites in November 2023. The Hotel Guest, is forthcoming in April 2026 with Park Row Books (North America) and Hachette Ireland (Ireland/UK).
