Event description

Description

YouthCon is an event organised for young people (age 12-18) by young people. This event is all about youth participation. We want to hear from young people about having your voices heard - where they are heard, where they are not. How you would like to be heard? Come along and add your voice to the conversation.

On the day, we will have special guest speakers, food, music and creativity.

Carmel Corrigan from the Ombudsman for Children's office will introduce the Lundy model of participation and Dr Tony Bates, founder of Jigsaw, will speak about youth participation in action. Young people will be invited to have their say on how they can be actively included in decision making and this information will be presented to relevant bodies and organisations. This is a great opportunity to really have your voice heard, meet other young people and have fun.

The event is fully acessible and we will have sign language translators present throughout the day.

It's free and groups are welcome, but please register each individual for tickets.

Tuesday, 29th May, 11.30-5, Millenium Hall, Cork City.
