All-Island Educational Neuroscience (AIEN)
This event is organised by researchers from University College Dublin and Queen's University Belfast and stakeholders in Education. Together we explore the development of the new interdisciplinary field of Educational Neuroscience on the island of Ireland. This Educational Neuroscience Knowledge Exchange Day event is part of a larger project entitled, 'An all-island Consortium to Foster Educational Neuroscience Research and Practice'. This co-creative project invites the voices of researchers, parents, teachers, and policy-makers to contribute to the development of this field in Ireland. Our inaugural knowledge exchange and research event will focus on current gaps in research and practice by exploring mind-wandering in early formal learning settings.
This project is funded by an Irish Research Council New Foundations Grant.
The project includes contributions from researchers from the School of Psychology and School of Education at University College Dublin (UCD) and Queen's University Belfast (QUB) (Ms Olivia Wynne , Ms Maisie Flynn, Assoc Prof Michelle Downes, Dr Joyce Senior, Prof Teresa McCormack, Dr Agnieszka Graham, Dr John McMullen) policy makers and practitioners(Patricia Davison, Educational Authority Northern Ireland; Thomas Maloney, Teaching Council Ireland; Máirín Ní Chéileachair; Irish National Teachers Organisation and Aine Lynch.
