Anne Marie Kelly
Anne Marie Kelly has been singing on the Irish music scene in various line ups, bands and genres for over twenty years. From independent rock outfits to sophisticated jazz, her deep sensual tones have been the backdrop to many a night in Dublin and beyond, bringing her to restaurants, bars, private parties and clubs, with time also for visits to residential homes. A private individual, she enjoys the professional company of some of the highest calibre musicians in Ireland, with support and endorsement from all musical palettes. A recent addition to her act is her tenor saxophone in addition to her previous studies in piano and voice.She began her life in the arts with the publication of short stories and poems in her teens and early twenties. Having been an emergency blood recipient some years ago, she uses every opportunity to endorse blood donation. In 2000, she released the indie rock EP “Acorn” with her band “Smoked Oak”, subsequently moving into more commercial gigging circles. In more recent years she has developed her interest in acting, on stage and on camera, training in the Meisner Technique at Momentum Acting Studios, Dublin and Gaiety School of Acting, enjoying her first role with Baz David in his film “The History of this Moment” and more recently in David Freyne’s “The Cured”.Outside of her life in the arts she works as a psychotherapist specialising in the areas of addiction and emotional release.
