C.A.R.E. Wellness Center
As the Founder and Director of C.A.R.E., I was commissioned to develop a safe and holistic farm retreat for myself and my community to retreat to. Being bombarded by harmful messages, haunted by generational trauma, and forced to face harsh realities every day on the news, at work, in our families and communities, and in our minds is EXHAUSTING! Especially when you do not have sufficient tools to become mindful, cope, and live a functional life. Without tools, you are not thriving, you are simply SURVIVING. In order to achieve self-realization and evolve as a human, there are levels of physiological and emotional safety and connection required. My goal, is living a righteous life that brings me and my people closer to divinity, and my ambitions include creating the safe space for myself and my community to do that without the constant reminder of being "black" and deprived of tools that empower a person to reach self-actualization. C.A.R.E. has the goal of acquiring agro-residential farmland, but in the meantime, we are launching our programs to service the BIPOC community on local, organic farms, and deliver tools that can help our community address their trauma, retreat from the constant demands and conflicts of our society, and reconnect with their own divinity. Though I'd love to escape capitalism altogether, money is a resource that is needed to build this intentional community, so we are fundraising for operating expenses and staffing. We will be hosting fundraisers and participating in local events to connect with like-minded people and organizations interested in radical healing and trauma-centered work. Our focus is Spirituality, AgroTourism, and Racial Justice, and our programs are based on the great Dr. Joy DeGruy's research and work on Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome (PTSS).
