Having led major fraud and investigation programmes across Ireland and the UK, Michael has worked with organisations in the public and private sector in both the UK and Ireland. His career spans complex internal investigations, enterprise-wide fraud risk assessments, whistleblowing frameworks, and the design of prevention strategies that reduce both operational and reputational risk.

Michael is the Founder of Fitzgerald Forensic & Integrity Services, an independent consultancy focused on helping organisations strengthen their culture, improve controls, and respond effectively when concerns arise. His approach blends investigative insight with practical, accessible tools tailored to each organisation’s risk landscape.

He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Certified Corporate Investigator (CCI), and holds a Master’s in Fraud Management, bringing a unique mix of professional credentials and real-world experience to every engagement.
