HFC Concert Band Wexford

HFC Concert Band, Wexford is a community band based in Wexford town. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings and are conducted by Patrick Clancy. Members range in age from 13yrs to 80yrs. There is also a Junior/training band, HFC Windjammers, which is in partnership with Music Generation Wexford. Instruments and group lessons are provided at a very accessible cost.

The instruments included in the band are Woodwinds (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone), Brass (trumpet, cornet, horn, trombone, euphonium, baritone and tuba) and Percussion (drums, timpani, tuned percussion like glocks etc. and anything else that makes a noise when shaken or hit!) We also have a string bass and a bass guitar. We perform annually in the National Opera House during December and take part in the South of Ireland Band Championships in July. During the summer we can be found performing in various housing estates, events in the town, villages in the County or in Johnstown Castle.
