Skyliner

Skyliner

Skyliner are walking tours looking at the alternative side of Manchester. The tours are informal but informative, with a focus on critical thinking, especially concerning public art and public realm, and the equity and ethics of cities. Our aim is to promote honest tourism (also known as anti-tourism).

The only northern tours to feature in The Telegraph Travel's Incredible Street Art Tours, and iTravel’s Offbeat City Tours. 2020 winner of Lux’s Best Alternative Walking Tours - North West England. Regularly featured in travel publications such as the Ultimate Travel Guide to Manchester, and the best way to spend your weekend.

Your guide is Hayley. I have an MA in Place Writing and am studying for an MsC in Place Management, I can bring a unique and knowledgeable perspective on place to my tours - this makes my non-traditional routes ideal for those with a curious or critical mind.

I also give back to the community and strive for sustainable and thoughtful tourism.

I (Hayley) am autistic and I'm constantly navigating how to make tours as accessible as possible, not just for disabilities but also in regards to sensory experiences - it's not easy in a noisy city but I try not to compete with background noise wherever possible and am open to suggestions on how I can improve.
