WST Summer School

Work Smarter Together (WST) is a UCD community of practice (CoP) that acknowledges and celebrates the engagement and ingenuity of the people making the work of UCD achievable.

In 2011, administrative staff attended an Association of University Administrators (AUA) event in UCD. This sparked the idea of formally bringing together staff from across the University to share their creativity as well as to support and understand different perspectives on our shared work and experience. WST continues to invite members of the CoP to share their experiences and thoughts in a variety of events like this throughout the year.

Resulting from the University’s 2015 strategy, Agile was created as a resource for the community, to support and identify opportunities to develop UCD's capabilities and build on our successes. There was a natural synergy between Work Smarter Together’s spirit and history, and Agile's remit to create space for supporting innovation and creativity while also providing practical support for problems and challenges which lead to Agile's long term sponsorship of WST as an initiative.

‘Agility and effectiveness’ is the agenda which Agile pursues each day. WST is 'celebration and acknowledgement' of our collective agility and effectiveness. With that in mind WST brings together stories on how the community innovate and collaborate, examples of the various tools and techniques and the insights of the people in those essential operational roles and showcases them to our broader UCD community.
