Event description
The Annual Christmas Cracker Cycle is back on Sat 4th December 2021. All proceeds go to Marymount Hospice Cork.

About this event

CCC UPDATE

Unfortunately, due to rising Covid case numbers in the community and following Public Health advice, Marymount is currently taking additional measures to restrict footfall into the hospital and is unable to accommodate the start/finish of the Christmas Cracker Cycle from/to Marymount grounds.

Routes have been changed to last year’s Covid impacted Cracker (details below), with a roll-through start at Harlequins Hockey club, Farmers Cross, from 9.15 am-9.45 am.

No registration desk on the day, please pre-register before the event here on Eventbrite. No parking permitted at Harlequins, so please cycle to the start, or park nearby. Meet with friends, get photos taken for social media in your festive cycling outfits, and cycle in small groups of clubmates and friends.

Have an enjoyable spin for a great cause, and most importantly, be safe and follow the rules of the road. This is a self-directed cycle, with some support vehicles on the routes and signs at major junctions. We thank you for your understanding and support and hopefully, normal service can resume next year.

The Christmas Cracker Cycle is a fantastic annual cycling event taking place on Saturday 4th December 2021 in aid of Marymount Hospice Cork.

Participants have two route options:

  • 55km Midi Cracker - see route directions and map below.
  • 84km Maxi Cracker - see route directions and map below.

What time?

9.15 am to 9.45 am - Rolling Start from Cork Harlequins Club, Farmers Cross.

Payment:

Payment is by way of voluntary donation, please pre-register before the event here on Eventbrite. There will be a prize for the most generous club.

How much is registration?

In the spirit of the event we do not charge a fee to take part but instead, ask for a donation from all participants who get on their bikes for Marymount.

What do I need to do?

As it is a Christmas Cycle we would love to see you get in the festive spirit and dress up your bikes and yourselves. Please see our Facebook page for pictures from previous years' events. There will be prizes for the best costume and a plaque for the best-supported club.

Any other details:

Please practice safe cycling on the open roads and thank you for helping to raise funds on behalf of Marymount.

Have a great day out!
