The Irish Traditional Music Archive warmly welcomes you to enjoy live traditional music, song & dance in the splendour of its Georgian Reading Room in 73 Merrion Square. Featuring the ITMA House Band and special guest performers, including uilleann piper Kevin Rowsome, this Archive will be alive on Culture Night!
ITMA presents a series of 6 salon concerts of Irish traditional music starting at 5pm. Each event is an opportunity to hear a range of instruments, tunes & songs from ITMA staff, friends & guest artists. The first 2 performances will feature young musicians, singers & dancers & are especially suitable for families. The 6 events are seated & take place in the first floor Reading Room accessible only by stairs. ITMA will also live stream the concerts to a large screen on the Ground Floor of the Archive where standing room will be provided to enjoy the music.
