DATE CHANGE - NOW Thursday 9th May and Wednesday 15th May - 10am to 4pm - The Hive, Carrick On Shannon

Stained glass artist Colette Langan and glass sculptor Adrienne Diamond invite you as a fellow artist to join them exploring the possibilities of what might happen when traditional glass techniques meet lasercutters and everything in between.

This 2-day workshop will focus on COLOUR/LIGHT/FORM/OPTICS through:

  • Stained glass painting
  • Laser engraving glass
  • Stencil making
  • Solutions to presenting the glass in your work or as a stand alone piece

Embark on an exploration of glass artistry, where tradition meets innovation in our dynamic workshop. Whether you're drawn to the timeless allure of glass or eager to integrate cutting-edge technology into your creative process, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Join Adrienne and Colette as they explore the possibilities with you.

In this workshop, not only will you examine forms and possibilities of glass, but you'll also utilise new technologies to enhance your developing artwork. From digital design tools to innovative fabrication techniques, we'll equip you with the skills and insights needed to push the boundaries of your creativity.

The workshop is spread over two consecutive Thursdays to allow for glass paint to cure and be fired in the kiln. Participants will create a number of small glass pieces using a variety of tools, technologies and techniques so step into our ‘pop-up’ studio and connect with fellow artists as you explore the fusion of traditional techniques with modern technology. Unleash your imagination, elevate your artistry, and discover how the marriage of tradition and innovation can breathe new life into your artwork. Don't miss this chance to embark on a groundbreaking artistic journey!

All materials will be provided and laptops will be available to use for creating digital patterns for laser engraving.
