Highlighting Hebron: Education in Occupation
Join us for an evening of food, art, music and talks in support of childrens education in the occupied Palestinian West Bank.
Hear from our guest speaker from the Hebron International Resource Network (HIRN) about daily life in the occupied West Bank and the challenges of education under occupation.
All profits contribute to funding HIRN’s education projects in Hebron such as classroom building, kindergarten support and innovative ICT projects.
EAT & DRINK
This is a BYOB (Bring your own bottle) event to enjoy with a middle eastern feast provided on the night! Hot pita bread, falafel, baklava, hummous and most importantly hummous!
Music on the evening will be provided by the award-winning harpist, Aoife Ní Argáin, who has counted, amongst many others, our own President Michael D. Higgins amongst her audience members as well as some surprise guests on the night!
Irish artist Brian Fogarty will be donating five art pieces based on photographs from the occupied West Bank. These will be on display and on sale during the night with profits also going to the Hebron International Resource Network (HIRN)
There is no administration fee for this event as it is organised by a team of volunteers from a Quaker Peace & Social Witness/World Council of Churches programme.
All profits will go directly towards the Hebron International Resource Network and their school building projects in the occupied Palestinian territories, helping young men and women to better their lives.
